The release for Second Wind is just two weeks away, so there's a lot going on behind the scenes. I wanted to pop in and post the next teaser for you. As always, this beautiful graphic was created by Jay Aheer with Simply Defined Art.
I hope you're ready for one heck of a love story! I'll be back next week with more!
XOXO

Second Wind Coming Soon!
Hello and Happy New Year since this is my first post in 2018. I hope everyone’s year is off to a great start. I’ve been hard at work on several projects and I’m excited to share with you the cover, blurb, and first two teasers for Second Wind, which will publish on February 14, 2018.
About the project: Second Wind is a standalone book unrelated to any series I’ve ever written. It is a best friend to lovers/second chance love novel. The story behind it is pretty fun. My husband and I went to Eastern Tennessee over the summer and rented a beautiful cabin. The fresh mountain air always stirs my creativity, but one night we got lost on our way to dinner because it had been a while since we updated our GPS. The directions took us to the back of a beautiful brand-new school with amazing sporting complexes. Now, my husband is grumbling like crazy, but I tune him out and lock my eyes on the football field that has this stunning mountain view as a backdrop. In my head, I heard a marching band playing a fight song, I heard the crowd roaring as the king of the gridiron scored a touchdown, and I pictured another young man standing on the sidelines taking pictures of the game for the yearbook and school paper. In my heart, I felt his yearning for the king of the gridiron. The football player became Lincoln and the photographer became Rush. They stole my heart and Second Wind developed from there.
Second Wind tells the tale of boys who became best friends at five years old, fell in love as teenagers, followed dreams that took them in different directions after high school, and reunited two decades later. Both of them needed a second wind and found a second chance. Now, I needed to find a way to tell this four-decade tale without combining a children’s book, a new adult book, and adult-themed book into one. I believe I found a creative way to do so.
This is my tribute to the men and women in the world who are forced to deny their true selves in the face of hatred, ignorance, and fear. It is my fervent hope that someday all people will be able to live freely, openly, and happily ever after.
Cover reveal:
Blurb:
Second wind: a new strength or energy to continue something that is an effort. After an amicable divorce, Lincoln Huxley is ready to embrace the sexuality he repressed for more than two decades. Rush Holden is no longer willing to settle for closeted men or those who don’t share his dreams of marriage and fatherhood. A chance encounter on a lakeside pier is the second wind they both need. Or will it just be a painful reminder of all they had lost?
Second chance: an opportunity to try something again that failed one time. Rush and Lincoln have shared a lot of firsts—friendship, young love, and heartbreak. Cruel reality forced the two men to choose paths that took their lives in different directions. Twenty-five years later, they get a second chance to fall in love with each all over again. Can it really be that simple, or will the same issues ruin their happiness a second time?
Happily ever after: to live happily for the rest of one’s life. Rush and Lincoln know that love and life can’t be defined by words alone. Patience, commitment, and the determination to do whatever it takes will be the only way the two men achieve their happily ever after.
Second Wind is a funny, sexy, and endearing standalone romance novel about love, loss, and rediscovery. It contains sexually explicit material and is intended for adults 18 and older.
First two teasers:
Writing this book consumed my soul. Rush and Linc’s story is one that I think will always be with me. I told their story through images, music, and words about love, loss, and rediscovery. I truly hope you’ll take this journey with me and love them as much as I do.
I’ll be back next week to share another teaser, and I will endeavor to be more active on my blog. I'd like to do fun posts like sharing Josh's favorite recipes and host other authors to share their work with us. I'd like to communicate better about what I'm working on and when you can expect it but in a way that doesn't spam your inboxes or bog down one blog post with too much information. Like everything in life, it's all about finding balance. I will answer one frequently asked question: the next Road to Blissville book is coming in March and will feature Wren and Dare. That's the sexy, brooding new stylist and the new receptionist at Curl Up and Dye. I'm looking at March 26th for a release date, sooner if I can swing it. Milo and Andy will follow.
Thank you so much for stopping by!
XOXO
